Arsenal have reportedly reignited their interest in Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon for the summer, according to Sky Sports.

There may be an 'exodus' at Newcastle United this summer, with multiple stars potentially nearing the exit doors.

Gordon is the latest one to be added to that list, and would cost 75 million pounds if he were to be sold.

It is obvious that one of the only positions in this team that could do with an upgrade is the left wing spot. Arsenal still have some really good players in the squad that could play in that position, and it would certainly not be a crisis if Arsenal were not to go for a winger in the summer, but an upgrade would be welcomed.

Leandro Trossard's good performances over the season have reduced the need for a winger, but it is clear that just for the added edge, it may be a good idea for Arsenal to end up signing someone.

However, Gordon might not be the player they need. Let's try to rephrase that properly. Gordon is one of the best wingers in the Premier League, and is no doubt a versatile option to have at the club.

He is going to prove to be a beneficial player if Arsenal end up signing him, but is he worth 75 million pounds?

Maybe he is, because of how the market works these days. But if Arsenal want to seriously sign a left-winger for that amount of money, it should not be Gordon.

Rodrygo Goes is right there. Arsenal would get a natural left-winger who is technically elite, a good finisher and can decide ties on his own accord. He has a proven Champions League record, which is something that Arsenal would need in future seasons.

Rodrygo's contract is also expiring in 2028, which is two years before Gordon's contract expires.

Rodrygo may not be having the best season at the moment, but his ceiling is undoubtedly higher than Gordon's, which makes this deal even more valuable, because they would be able to sign the Brazilian for around that amount due to his contract.

Last season, Real Madrid wanted 87 million pounds for Rodrygo. There would have been a way in which some negotiation would bring the price down.

But this season, Rodrygo is not starting as many games as he did last season, and is one year closer to his contract expiring. It would make so much more sense if Arsenal are able to sign him over Gordon.

It also depends on Rodrygo wanting to leave Real Madrid, which may or may not happen, but Arsenal must try this before they think about signing Gordon.
