Former Arsenal midfielder and current expert on the club Adrian Clarke has suggested Arsenal should sign Mohammed Kudus to replace Bukayo Saka.

The Christmas period was unfortunately overshadowed for Arsenal fans by the news of Bukayo Saka's injury. The England superstar and Arsenal star-boy is expected to miss two months of action at least, if Mikel Arteta's latest admission is anything to go by.

Ever since he first broke into the first-team, Bukayo Saka has gone from strength to strength. He has improved season-on-season and is now one of the most important players at Arsenal.

So, being without him in the starting lineup is difficult for Arsenal to take. Now, Mikel Arteta must find ways to work around his setback.

Arsenal expert urges Mikel Arteta to sign one ideal Bukayo Saka replacement

Speaking to talkSPORT, former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke has suggested that Arsenal should sign Mohammed Kudus. Of course, the Ghana international is a long-term transfer target of Mikel Arteta's and alongside the ability to replace Bukayo Saka on the wing, he can also play up front.

In his own words, Clarke said: "Mohammed Kudus is a player that Arsenal have had a long term interest in. He is a perfect Bukayo Saka replacement who can also do a job up front. Wonderful traveller with the ball at his feet. Could Arsenal test West Ham United's resolve with a with an offer this month?"

It can be said with certainty that no Arsenal fan would turn up their nose at the prospect of welcoming Kudus to the club. The attacker was on Arsenal's radar before he joined West Ham United and there was excitement even back then.

Unfortunately, Kudus joined a different London club but Arsenal fans have continued to monitor his progress and it only makes the prospect of signing him more exciting now that he is Premier League proven.

West Ham United have not had a good start to the season. They are 13th in the Premier League table which is far below their usual expectation. Therefore, it might be difficult to keep ahold of their best players.

It is expected that Kudus would be open to joining a top Premier League club. After all, it would present him with the opportunity to play in the upper echelon of European football yet again.
