Arsenal fans can't escape the painful Morgan Rogers regret

He would have been perfect.

In the summer transfer window, Arsenal chose not to take the Morgan Rogers bait. They were linked with the former Aston Villa man for a long time, but ultimately, Chelsea were willing to pay more for him than Arsenal were.

Arsenal has long taken a frugal and prudent approach in the transfer window. With the exception of game-changers like Declan Rice, they haven't invested heavily in single transfers. They applied this principle to Rogers, but it was the wrong decision.

Morgan Rogers keeps reminding Arsenal they should've signed him

Halloween might be over for this year, but Morgan Rogers is in scary form for Chelsea. He has been perhaps the signing of the summer, which is frustrating to admit from an Arsenal perspective.

Chelsea's attack has been one of the best in the Premier League this season. In fact, I would say only Brighton's attack has been better than Chelsea's... Obviously, Man City's too, but we shan't praise cheaters.

Rogers would have been an exceptional signing for Arsenal. It still feels weird seeing him in a Chelsea jersey, partly because it doesn't suit him, but mostly because he's keeping Arsenal fans up at night.

Arsenal head into an incredibly important game against Liverpool. The Gunners haven't won at Anfield in 14 years; the last time they did, Mikel Arteta was playing.

However, there is a big question mark over Arsenal's starting 11. They have suffered from injuries, suspensions and, let's face it, a lack of spending in the winger department. Neither wing has set the world alight for Arsenal this season, and that's a problem the Gunners wouldn't have had if Rogers had signed.

Rogers can play either behind the striker or out on the left wing. His secondary position would have been of most use to Arsenal, as out on the left wing, Arsenal have seen Christos Tzolis, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke competing for a spot. If we're being completely honest, that isn't the positional depth of Premier League champions and Champions League runners-up.

Arsenal remain the favourite to win the Premier League this season, and heck, they will hopefully strengthen by signing a left-winger in the January market. Nevertheless, it doesn't make the lost sleep over Rogers any easier.

Anyway, that's enough praising Chelsea for one day. The silver lining is that while their attack is one of the best, their defence is one of the worst. Obviously, Arsenal are a more balanced team than their London rivals, even without Morgan Rogers.
