It's fair to say that Arsenal fans are in two minds over Viktor Gyökeres and the Swede's start to life at the Emirates. He arrived from Sporting CP in a £64 million deal and was tasked with becoming the goalscoring number nine Mikel Arteta had long been crying out for.
Gyökeres has shown glimpses of his consistency in front of goal, managing three goals in seven league games. But some are concerned about his profile and whether he's the right fit for Arteta and his outing in a 2-0 win over West Ham United raised eyebrows.
The 27-year-old has joined up with Sweden's national team for the international break. He'll be relieved to get a breather from the pressure of the Premier League and the massive scrutiny he's already under.
Sweden boss tells Gyökeres doubters why they are wrong

While some of the Gunners fanbase are growing concerned about Gyökeres that isn't the verdict of his Sweden manager Jon Dahl Tomasson. The Swedish coach reckons he's had a good impact on Arteta's team (via football.london):
“Viktor Gyökeres is in very good form at the moment and is very good. If people say he doesn’t have an impact [in matches], then they don’t understand football and don’t have a clue about football."
Gyokeres has yet to record an assist in Arsenal colours or provide the formidable threat that many watched tear Liga Portugal apart at Sporting CP. But Tomasson disagreed:
"He creates space for other players, works on the ball and makes runs. It’s excellent and he scores goals almost all the time, so he has an impact and has been very good. It’s always nice, as you need time when you come to a new club.”
Gyökeres was Europe's best goalscorer last season, registering an astonishing record of 54 goals and 13 assists in 52 games across competitions. But the standards of football between the Primera Liga and the Premier League are worth a mention and it was always going take time for the former Coventry City frontman to adapt.
"Like a sore thumb" - Jenas on Gyökeres' performances

Arsenal have one of the most entertaining teams in Europe and their summer bussiness saw some of the most exciting attacking talent arrive in North London. Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke have proven to be two excellent acquistions.
The jury is still out on Gyökeres because of his shaky start that hasn't exactly lit the world alight. His displays have left Jermaine Jenas pondering if he's a good fit for Arteta.
Jenas spoke to talkSPORT after the incredible 2-1 comeback win over Newcastle:
“I think the problem with Gyökeres is this, yeah. When you watch him, he just stands out like a sore thumb in such a beautiful footballing team. They all can play."
Jenas did praise Gyökeres' movement and explained that the Newcastle defenders "knew they were in a game" up against the Swede. There isn't a need for Arteta's frontman to be easy on the eye he just needs to find the back of the net.
