Arsenal beat Bayern Munich 3-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday. There weren't any bigger games than that for Arsenal in the competition's league phase, and they made sure they saved their best for that.

They came out with all guns blazing and solidified their position as potentially the best team in Europe at the moment.

Ever since they lost against Liverpool, they have just kept improving and improving. And we are at a point now where even though they are missing so many key players in Martin Odegaard, Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel, they still look like the best team in the world. And that's testament to what Arteta has achieved with this squad in just a few months' time.

One of the biggest talking points of the Bayern Munich game was the return of Harry Kane to the Emirates Stadium.

Kane has obviously played a lot of games at the Emirates in Tottenham colours and he has scored a lot of goals as well. Before the game he was asked about his goalscoring record and he wanted to say that he has not won as many games.

And he would have wanted to change that but he wasn't able to and that's testament to Arteta and his defense. However, he did say one thing in the post-match interview that will cause some worry among the Arsenal fanbase.

Harry Kane looks forward to facing Arsenal again

He said: “There is a reason why Arsenal have won every game in the Champions League and why they are top of the Premier League. They've got a good structure, win first-second balls, set-pieces.

"I'm sure we'll see them again in the latter stages of the competition, so we look forward to that."

I mean, he is kind of spot on.

Arsenal fans have the right to celebrate this win as much as possible. They are well within their rights to be boasting about it for the next few days. But these games matter so long as you are able to enter the knockout stages of the competition.

After that happens it's a different ballgame. Teams that you play in the league phase may not necessarily be as bad as when you play them in the knockout stages. Players can also turn up far more knowing what is at stake, and I'm sure Kane is aiming to do just that.

For example, against PSG last season, Arsenal were comfortable winners in the league phase over the French team. But then they lost to them in the semi-finals of the competition.

So Harry Kane does have a point. However, it is also worth noting that Arsenal will also likely improve by then.

They will have recovered quite a few of their injured stars by the time that happens. And they will arguably look even better than they have in these last few weeks.

So it's going to be an interesting time when that happens. And Arsenal fans will make sure that they are there for just that.
