Arsenal fans have seen a lot of arrivals and a lot of departures this year.

There has been deadwood in the squad for years that has now been cleared. A number of notable signings have left the club, and it is not just the players - even Edu Gaspar, the former technical director of Arsenal, left the club in 2025, joining Nottingham Forest in July.

He has overseen his first transfer window as Nottingham Forest's director, and there have been a number of signings that will be playing at The City Ground this season.

Their troubles with Nuno Espirito Santo were clear as day, and they have just brought in a manager that Arsenal fans will not necessarily love.

According to The Athletic, Nottingham Forest are bringing in former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou to replace Nuno Espirito Santo with immediate effect.

Ange Postecoglou will oversee Nottingham Forest's game against Arsenal this weekend

That also means Postecoglou will be in the dugout when Nottingham Forest play Arsenal next... which is this weekend.

According to the report, the move is expected to be confirmed in the next 24 hours, and it was honestly expected that Forest owner Maranakis would replace Espirito Santo with Postecoglou, given the way he has spoken about him in the past.

“What I want to say about Ange is that he has spoken about Greece many times, he is proud to be Greek and in the great success he had with Tottenham by winning the Europa League, he spoke about Greece,” were Maranakis' words recently.

The BBC said before the appointment that Edu Gaspar will play a key role in deciding who replaces Nuno Espirito Santo.

Either way, it does not look like Arsenal fans have much to worry about when it comes to Postecoglou's Premier League record against them.

As much as they would hate the fact that the manager who brought Tottenham their first trophy in years will keep facing them in the Premier League with a different club, his record in the derbies is nothing to write home about.

In the four matches Arsenal and Tottenham played in the two years where Postecoglou was manager, Arsenal won three and drew one.

So, in reality, they must hate the idea of Forest being led by a Tottenham man, but once you dissect it, there isn't actually a lot to worry about, at least on paper.

I mean, things can always go wrong. Forest can always show up as a team that is more up to Postecoglou's speed, that is better suited for the Australian manager.

However, until that point, Arsenal don't have a lot to worry about other than the new manager bounce that every team seems to get after changing managers.
