Finally, there is positive news on the injury front for Arsenal.
As Arsenal gears up for its Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb at the Emirates, we finally have some positive news on the injury front.
With the Gunners struggling over the last few weeks with players going down left and right, the tide eventually had to turn, right?
Well, now it has as Mikel Arteta has revealed that two players are back and available for the clash against Zagreb, with Ethan Nwaneri and Riccardo Calafiori both available and ready to be selected.
"It’s very positive news, we’ve missed them for a few weeks and they returned today for training so they will be available for the game," Arteta said via arsenal.com.
Well, that's good, isn't it?
Having Nwaneri back will give Arteta some wriggle room with who he deploys in attack, and while it's been a few weeks since Ethan has played, a role off the bench looms likely as we don't want our Hale End product to break down again.
With Calafiori, he will prove cover for Myles Lewis-Skelly and might even come in to replace the teenager given he's played a lot of games recently, so things are looking up finally.
However, Arteta stated that fellow defender, William Saliba will miss the clash with Zagreb, but he is progressing well.
"He is evolving well, the last few days he was feeling much better already but this game comes a little bit too early for him," Arteta added.
So some good things are happening for the Gunners in the treatment room and with Zagreb not in the best form domestically, having only won once in their last five league games, plus only winning two of their Champions League games while conceding 15 goals, Arsenal could take a bit step to avoiding the playoff round.
With the Gunners finding some kind of goal scoring form over the last two games netting four goals, there is a potential for Arteta's team to further get their confidence up in front of goal. Something that for some players, has been lacking over the last month.
Arsenal has a chance to jump up into third in the Champions League table with a win and be two points behind Barcelona in second and doing so would greatly increase their chances of progressing to the Round of 16.
But more than anything, the Gunners will be bolstered by two players returning from injury, which will no doubt help the cause too.
Finally, things might be starting to turn our way.
