Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Jorginho have all returned to Arsenal training ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash against Newcastle.
The Gunners risk relinquishing second spot following a poor domestic run, and will slide down the table should the visitors win at the Emirates for a second time this season.
Mikel Arteta's side also aren't yet assured of their place in next season's Champions League, but will all but secure their spot in the competition by claiming a point this weekend. While the club's Premier League run simply hasn't been good enough over the spring, they showed character last weekend at Liverpool to earn a 2-2 draw after falling two goals behind before the midway point of the first half.
Mikel Merino's sending off means he's unavailable for Newcastle's visit, but Arteta should have ample options at his disposal to mitigate his absence.
Arsenal could be boosted by returns of three players vs Newcastle

Supporters were treated to the long-awaited return of Havertz at the Emirates on Wednesday morning, with the German recovering from a hamstring tear sustained in February. His season was initially thought to be over, but reports emerged in recent weeks regarding his potential comeback before the end of May.
There had been hope that the German would play a part in the Champions League final, but Gooner hearts were broken in Paris.

Still, there are two games left in Arsenal's campaign for the forward to get minutes under his belt before pre-season. In his absence, Merino has done an admirable job of filling in, but the Spaniard was always going to be a short-term solution.
With Merino suspended, there could be an immediate return to the starting lineup for Rice, who missed Sunday's draw at Anfield due to a hamstring issue. Jorginho, meanwhile, has been suffering from a rather complex lung/rib injury but has been given the all-clear to return. The Italian will be joining Flamengo at the end of the season.
Arsenal should also have Leandro Trossard available as he was pictured in training, too. The Belgian suffered a knock on Merseyside but seemingly won't miss any time as a result. On the contrary, Jurrien Timber remains sidelined for the Gunners and his status is in doubt for Newcastle's visit.
I wouldn't be against giving Timber time to recuperate for the summer given that Arteta has Ben White at his disposal. If the Englishman is to play a big role again next season, a string of games to conclude 2024/25 wouldn't hurt.
