Having been given one of the competition's more favourable draws, Mikel Arteta's side are set to face Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Club Brugge, Kairat Almaty and Athletic Bilbao.
Here's how Arsenal have previously fared against their 2025/26 Champions League opponents.
Arsenal's head-to-head record against 2025/26 Champions League opponents

Bayern Munich
Bayern have been very familiar foes for Arsenal over the years since their first meeting in December 2000. The 33-time Bundesliga champions have knocked the Gunners out of the tournament on a number of occasions, famously doing so with a 10-2 aggregate win in 2017.
Their last encounter came during the 2023/24 knockout stage when the two sides have faced off in the quarter-finals. A 2-2 first leg draw at the Emirates Stadium was followed up by a 1-0 win for Bayern at the Allianz Arena, sending Arsenal out the competition once again.
Club | Wins | Draws | Losses |
---|---|---|---|
Arsenal | 3 | 3 | 8 |
Bayern Munich | 8 | 3 | 3 |
Inter Milan

Despite being two of Europe's biggest clubs, Arsenal and Inter Milan have met on just three occasions over the years.
A first set of encounters came in the group stage of the 2003/04 edition, during which the Gunners recorded their famous 5-1 victory at the San Siro. They will travel to the Italian city once again having done so during last season's league phase when they fell to a dismal 1-0 defeat.
Club | Wins | Draws | Losses |
---|---|---|---|
Arsenal | 1 | 0 | 2 |
Inter Milan | 2 | 0 | 1 |
Atletico Madrid

Arsenal will welcome Atletico Madrid to the Emirates having faced them just twice before.
The two meetings came in the semi-finals of the 2017/18 Europa League with Atleti prevailing on their way to winning the tournament. Diego Simeone's side drew 1-1 in north London before securing a 1-0 win at the Metropolitano in the second leg.

---|---|---|---|
Arsenal | 0 | 1 | 1 |
Atletico Madrid | 1 | 1 | 0 |
Club Brugge

Arteta will take his Arsenal side on a new adventure as they travel to face Club Brugge, who they have never met before.
The Belgian side qualified for the Champions League after hammering Rangers 9-1 on aggregate so will certainly be looking to provide the Gunners with a tough test.
Olympiacos

Arsenal will take on yet another familiar foe as they host Olympiacos during the league phase. Having met 12 times since 2009, the ties between the two have been surprisingly even over the years.
There was a short period of time where the Greek champions were the 'Bayern Munich' of the Europa League with the Gunners facing them in two consecutive seasons. They knocked Arteta's side out of the competition in the 2019/20 campaign with a late winner, but the Spaniard got his revenge a year later.
Club | Wins | Draws | Losses |
---|---|---|---|
Arsenal | 6 | 0 | 6 |
Olympiacos | 6 | 0 | 6 |
Slavia Prague

The Gunners will face another familiar opponent when they travel to Slavia Prague, a side they have met on four occasions.
A 7-0 Arsenal victory in the group stage of the 2007/08 tournament was the maiden meeting with the most recent encounter coming during the 2020/21 Europa League. Following a 1-1 draw at the Emirates, Arteta took his side to the Czech capital where they roared to a dominant 4-0 win.
Club | Wins | Draws | Losses |
---|---|---|---|
Arsenal | 2 | 2 | 0 |
Slavia Prague | 0 | 2 | 2 |
Kairat Almaty

With this being Kairat's debut appearance in the Champions League, it comes as no surprise that Arsenal have never faced them before.
The Kazakhstani champions will be looking to make a statement against the Gunners having qualified for the tournament after defeating Scottish giants Celtic in a penalty shootout.
Athletic Bilbao

Arsenal will come up against yet another new face after they were a dealt a trip to La Liga side Athletic Bilbao.
The Gunners did meet Bilbao in pre-season, securing a 3-0 win to retain the Emirates Cup, but this will be the first competitive encounter between the pair.
