Max Dowman is breaking records left, right and centre for Arsenal. At just 15 years of age, he has worked well, played very well for his age, and broken some records that had stood for decades. He is the latest to come out of Hale End and is already earning a name for himself.

What is rather interesting is that he has the full confidence of the club and the manager, the latter being full of praise for the Englishman whenever he gets the chance to talk about him.

Along with the praise and the quality he brings, Dowman is also facing increasing pressure from opposing defenders. That happens when you are too good too soon. He is always surrounded by a man or two men and subjected to some really rough challenges. That is a part of the game that has now become his reality.

As he continues with his honest work, after featuring in a couple of league games for Arsenal, Dowman has now broken yet another record wearing red.

Upon making his third senior appearance for Arsenal against Port Vale in the EFL Cup, Dowman became Arsenal’s youngest-ever League Cup player, smashing the record previously held by Jack Porter. Dowman was 15 years and 267 days old at the time he broke the record.

Dowman is a special player the world must watch with keen eyes. He is not only a smart attacking midfielder but also a good decision-maker. He can find spaces others cannot, and I am not talking about players his age but senior-level players as well.

I have previously mentioned how, watching him play, you cannot differentiate between his left and right foot; both are equally strong for him.

His future lies with Arsenal, and the chambers at the Emirates must ensure that remains the case. This is a gem that Arsenal have found in their own quarry and they must not let it leave unless they make a proper show of it.

The sky is the limit for Dowman, and he has nothing to lose in the coming days. All he needs is more minutes to become a regular in this team, and he will easily find his way into the best-youngsters-in-the-world debates.

He is simply too good to be kept on the bench, but the opportunities are not going to come very easily at the same time.

Dowman must fight for his chances the same way, or perhaps even harder, than the way he fought when he made it from the academy to the first team.
