Arsenal must tune out the noise after Man City's 114 guilty charges

Man City have been found guilty of 114 of the 115 charges brought against them. It's been a long process, but it's far from over; the sanctions are yet to be decided, and Man City are expected to appeal.

As Arsenal have been Man City's primary competition over the last few years, this is bound to feel like a kick in the teeth for every Arsenal fan. There will always be questions about 'what if?', but those questions cannot be answered in hindsight. What matters most is how Arsenal react, and it begins now.

Arsenal must only focus on themselves (and let Man City contend with the noise)

Time will tell if Man City even get punished - that should be of no concern to Arsenal. Arsenal fans should not hold out for the positive repercussions of any Man City punishment.

Arsenal don't need a helping hand from anyone to compete. They proved that last season, even with the odds stacked against them, they were capable of winning the Premier League without any charity work.

No noise. No outside distraction. No drama.

Arsenal can only win the games that are in front of them - which is painfully ironic after that display in Brighton, but alas, the point of this article is to look forward! With optimism! He says, through gritted teeth.

We don't know if Man City will get dropped points. Heck, we don't even know if they'll get any punishment that would hinder them in any way, yet.

The only thing we do know is that Man City are top of the Premier League and they are the only team in England's top flight with a 100% record as it stands. Arsenal can't change the latter, but they can change the former, and that only comes from their own doing.

Over the next few days, Arsenal fans will see plenty of chatter online about what will happen next with Man City. There will be rumours, and you can almost guarantee most of them will be based on nothing other than drawing clicks. That's just the nature of the business when something as groundbreaking as this happens.

However, what's important is that Arsenal players don't get complacent. They won't, of course; they're trained professionals, and they are the champions of the most elite sporting league in the world.

Arsenal already proved that they could win the league while Man City were reaping the rewards of breaking the rules (allegedly). That win feels even sweeter now that Man City have been found guilty, but it doesn't mean anyone should expect Arsenal's title win this season to be made easier.

Man City will do what Man City have always done. Let's expect them to appeal - it doesn't change the status of whether they're guilty or not.

This, if nothing else, is just another distraction. Thankfully, the curveball is thrown in Man City's direction and not Arsenal's.

The real headline is that Arsenal will fight even harder for their second Premier League trophy in a row. Anything else is merely background noise.
