Heading into this transfer window, every single news outlet was telling us signing a striker was Arsenal's priority. Now, weeks in that still hasn't been dealt with.
The Gunners are yet to add a deadly goalscorer to their ranks, but they have effectively completed the signings of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard, as well as working on moves for Cristhian Mosquera and Eberechi Eze. All this is great, but where is that striker?!
Arsenal had a number of priorities coming into the summer and while most of them have now been attended to, the most important one is yet to be. It's now time for the club to hurry up and sign a striker.

Reports have claimed Arsenal want to sign a striker in time for the commencement of their pre-season tour of Asia, giving them until 19 July to complete a deal. With just under three weeks to go until then, that really isn't much time.
The Gunners ideally need a goalscorer through the door for that tour if they want their chosen man to have enough time to settle into the squad and get used to Mikel Arteta's way of running things. With that being the case, they just have to hurry up and sign a striker.
Not only do they face a race against time to acquire a goalscorer, they also must battle other sides for their targets' signatures. Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko have been the primary options and both have attracted interest from other clubs, while new name Hugo Ekitike is also a man in demand.
If they want to get their hands on one of their main targets, Arsenal simply can't afford to keep playing around and focusing on signing players for other positions. They have shown recently that they can act quickly in the market so there is no reason they can't implement that in their hunt for a striker.
Now is the time for the Gunners to hurry up and sign a striker. They have little time to get one in before their pre-season tour and they also can't risk losing out on their primary targets to other interested clubs. If they don't get one of their targets, they will have to settle for a poorer quality backup and that isn't something anyone wants so Arsenal need to get a deal done soon.
