The Gunners have been swiftly moving through the transfer window, but one thing still hasn't happened.

Arsenal's summer transfer window, one could say, has gotten off to a solid start.

But not in the way fans had hoped.

Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and, reportedly now Cristhian Mosquera are all close to coming to North London, that does look like a solid start to the summer.

But there isn't a lot of moving and shaking when it comes to the striker search, which we think, along with most Arsenal fans, is at the top of the wish-list for the Gunners.

We have heard all the reports regarding Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres and the release clauses and salary demands from the RB Leipzig star, plus Gyokeres' dream of coming to the Gunners, but both appear to be moving at a snail's pace.

It is reported that Arteta wants a striker signed by the time his team begins its preseason preparations on July 19, so that leaves a little over three weeks to get a deal done.

Gunners moving forward through transfer wish list, but not where fans want

We have had good responses to the players Arsenal are close to agreeing to terms with, and yes, all give good squad depth, and in Zubimendi's case, a Thomas Partey replacement.

But the striker search appears to be slow going.

Funds are being used up on several players but the one area of the pitch that will require the most investment is still yet to come, which makes us wonder if enough will be available to get either Sesko or Gyokeres over the line.

If that isn't the case due to the players Arsenal is already far along with in their negotations, fans will riot.

This squad needs a genuine striker and as we approach the start of July, it doesn't appear that the club is any closer to securing its No. 9 than it was a month ago.

And that is a little concerning.
