Arsenal's win over Aston Villa was exceptional in more ways than one. It was not just a big win over a title rival, it was a statement. It was a huge, huge win after facing many injuries. It was a great performance after weeks of being sluggish on both ends of the pitch.

Arsenal looked like the best team in the world again, and that is exactly what they have been this season.

There were a bunch of storylines that opened themselves up during this game, and one of them was the return of central defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Gabriel was, as he usually is, exceptional at the back for The Gunners, and his performance on the pitch translated into the performance of the rest of the team. Arsenal looked much more secure at the back, and they looked like the team everyone fears going up against, finally.

However, he was not the best player on the pitch. Even if we consider just the time he spent on the pitch before being subbed off, he was probably the second best player for Arsenal.

It is well and truly time that Leandro Trossard gets his much-deserved appreciations. People were calling the left wing spot as an area for improvement for Arsenal in the summer, and Trossard is slowly but surely proving every single one of those people wrong.

He has scored in many big games this season, and it was the same against Villa on Tuesday night. However, it was not just the goal. The goal was just the icing on the cake, but Trossard literally did everything else right as well.

He had four shots, two of which were on target. He set Gabriel Jesus up perfectly with an assist, made three key passes, and had a 92% pass completion rate.

Defensively, Trossard also recorded two tackles and an interception. He completed three of his three long ball attempts, and also had two accurate crosses.

Let's leave the statistics and look at the eye test: Trossard's decision-making was spot on. Second to none. He made every single decision near-perfectly. He looked like a menace on the left every single time he got the ball, and each time there was space opening up for his teammates, he laid an inch perfect pass.

Some of his corners - one of which could have well ended up in the back of the net through Jurrien Timber - were also really, really good.

In short, Trossard had a brilliant game yet again, and he fully deserves his flowers.
