Bayern Munich are hoping to have Leroy Sane's future resolved by the weekend, so Arsenal will soon learn whether they can sign the winger for free this summer.
The Gunners are set to bolster their frontline considerably this summer, with personnel upgrades likely being made across Mikel Arteta's front three.
While a new striker is regarded as the priority, Arsenal could also do with greater variety and explosiveness in wide areas. An array of targets have been mentioned in transfer rumour mills, and Sane, a potential free agent, could be one of those "market opportunities" Arteta likes to bang on about.
The Spaniard worked with Sane at Manchester City, where the German blossomed into a superstar, and he's enjoyed the best goalscoring season of his career under Vincent Kompany this term, notching 11 goals in the Bundesliga. Despite his impressive form in 2025 thus far, there's no guarantee that he'll be a Bayern player come the start of 2025/26.
Leroy Sane's future to be resolved by the weekend amid Arsenal interest

Sane seems keen on remaining in Bavaria, while Bayern have already offered the German winger a new contract. However, the Bundesliga champions want to retain Sane at a reduced price (a reported €14m/€15m salary) given his age, and Sane is yet to agree to such terms.
The club's sporting director, Max Eberl, has made it clear that they won't offer Sane the world to keep him on their books.
"Our wish would be to continue with Leroy," Eberl said on Saturday (via Sky Sport Germany). "But we've also set ourselves a framework, where we said we want to operate within that framework. And if that framework were to be broken—subjunctive!—then it would be very, very difficult."
Arsenal, as a result, remain hopeful, with Chelsea, Newcastle, and Spurs also interested. While a return to the Premier League seems the most likely if Sane opts to move on, but an exit to Spain is also said to be on the table.
"It's up to Leroy now," the Bayern director added. "We hope he does it. If not, we'll have to find another solution."
Bayern want a decision before their final game of the season against Hoffenheim this weekend, so we'll soon learn whether the Gunners have a chance at landing the 29-year-old winger. The club has already moved to seal Martin Zubimendi's arrival, and similar proactivity could be required if Sane becames available.
