Arsenal face another London rival as they welcome Brentford to the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge by 10-man Chelsea in their last outing. Despite suffering a player deficit, the Blues opened the scoring through Trevoh Chalobah, but Mikel Merino headed in to level matters and ensure the points were shared.

Brentford bounced back from a defeat to Brighton with a 3-1 win over Burnley last time out. With every goal coming inside the last 10 minutes, an Igor Thiago brace and a late Dango Ouattara strike was enough to take the victory from the Clarets.

Mikel Arteta's side sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League and will be eager to maintain or extend that advantage while they will face a Bees side that will be hoping to snatch a shock victory in order to bolster their European hopes. This will certainly be an exciting London derby.

Here's our preview of Arsenal's capital clash with Brentford.

Arsenal team news

William Saliba will likely be unavailable once again after missing the draw at Chelsea which means, along with Gabriel's continued absence, Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapié will be the starting centre back duo once again.

Noni Madueke, Martin Ødegaard and Viktor Gyökeres all came off the bench at Stamford Bridge and could be considered for starting roles against the Bees. Gabriel Martinelli, Eberechi Eze and Mikel Merino will all drop out as a result.

Riccardo Calafiori will be dropped to the bench as he faces the risk of suspension for the trip to Aston Villa if he picks up a booking on Wednesday so Myles Lewis-Skelly could take his place at left back.

After returning to the matchday squad following a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Gabriel Jesus could be involved in some capacity against the Bees, but he will likely be brought on as a substitute.

Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Brentford: Raya; Timber, Mosquera, Hincapie, Lewis-Skelly; Ødegaard, Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Gyökeres, Madueke

Brentford team news

Arsenal will not be welcoming loanee Reiss Nelson back to the Emirates as the terms of his temporary spell with the Bees means he is unavailable to face his former side.

Fabio Carvalho, Antoni Milambo and Josh Dasilva are all battling injuries that will keep them out until 2026 meaning they will be watching along with Nelson for this one.

Other than that, it will be same old for Keith Andrews and he will likely name a strong side capable of upsetting the Gunners.

Predicted Brentford lineup vs Arsenal: Kelleher; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Ajer, Henry; Yarmoliuk, Henderson; Damsgaard; Ouattara, Thiago

Arsenal vs Brentford score prediction

Arsenal will be eager to bounce back from their draw with Chelsea in style against Brentford, but they will be wary of the threat their visitors pose.

The Bees have shocked many under the leadership of Andrews as they look like one of the outside contenders for the European places and given their frequent troubling moments against the Gunners in recent seasons, they could cause a few problems again on Wednesday.

However, Arteta boasts the far stronger side and even if he rotates slightly to give returning players minutes, his team should be convincing victors against Brentford. It won't be straightforward, but the three points should be Arsenal's at full-time.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Brentford
