Arsenal have had great success in Europe under Renee Slegers, winning the Champions League in the 2024/25 campaign. However, it has been domestic glory that has eluded them. This Women's Super League season has so far not gone to plan, with just one win and two draws in Arsenal's opening three games.
The recent draw with Manchester United was disappointing, with the Gunners needing an equaliser in added time from Smilla Holmberg. The match today against HB Køge gives Slegers the chance to rotate her squad, with the difficult task of taking on Chelsea in the WSL this weekend.

Goalkeeper & defenders
GK: Misa Rodríguez
As much as Slegers needs to rotate her squad, there is not much point in changing the goalkeeper just for the sake of it. Misa should continue in goal, with backup keeper Anneke Borbe saved for domestic cup competitions. Daphne van Domselaar is also still injured.
RB: Smilla Holmberg
It would be smart to give Emily Fox a break, especially as Holmberg's confidence will be high after scoring against United.
CB: Leah Williamson
Arsenal will still need Leah Williamson to lead the back line. Køge have former Manchester City and Denmark striker Nadia Nadim in their ranks. Therefore, Williams will need to be in form to keep the experienced forward from being a threat.
CB: Steph Catley
Lotte Wubben-Moy is an injury doubt, so it would be smart to play Steph Catley and not take any chances. For rotation purposes, it would have been good to play Wubben-Moy, but there is no point in risking further injuries.
LB: Taylor Hinds
Slegers could rotate at left-back by playing Taylor Hinds instead of Ona Batlle. Hinds has had limited game time since arriving from Liverpool last year. Batlle has only just arrived at the Gunners from Barcelona, and it would be wise to keep her fresh for the trip to Chelsea this Sunday.
Midfielders
CDM: Georgia Stanway
The core of Arsenal's lineup needs to remain, so Stanway should start as she performed well against United. This was despite her error that led to the Red Devils' goal. Stanway has the character to make amends for this, but needs to play tonight to do so.
CDM: Kim Little
Mariona Caldentey could sit this one out, with Little taking her place. Arsenal will not need two out-and-out holding midfielders against Køge, so Little will be the more attacking one alongside Stanway. Little is Arsenal's captain, and her experience will be crucial in European ties.
CAM: Geraldine Reuteler
Reuteler was left on the bench against United, so this could be a good opportunity to give her game time. Arsenal supporters will want to see what Reuteler can do after she joined from Eintracht Frankfurt over the summer. A European tie against a side that Arsenal are expected to beat could be the perfect opportunity for Reuteler to prove herself.
Forwards
RW: Chloe Kelly
Kelly made a late cameo against United, so for squad rotation deserves to start tonight. Kelly has scored some notable goals for both club and country, but is yet to get off the mark this campaign. Therefore, she should relish the opportunity to face Køge in a home tie.
CF: Selina Cerci
Cerci made an impact off the bench against United. Tonight's match is the perfect opportunity for her to show what she can do with a start. Supporters will want to see what the new signing from Hoffenheim can do from the get-go.
LW: Caitlin Foord
Foord also performed well against United as a substitute, so it would be good for her to get more game time this evening. Arsenal will have much tougher opponents throughout the season. Therefore, fringe players such as Foord need game time when they can get it. Slegers will need to make use of her full squad if they are to be successful both domestically and in Europe this campaign.
