Back in the Premier League, if the Gunners beat Brighton on Saturday, it would be the first time they have won five out of five to start a league season since 1903. Back then, Woolwich Arsenal won promotion from the Second Division, meaning the club have never achieved this in the top flight.

Despite the fact Brighton feel like something of a bogey team, Arsenal's recent record in this fixture is actually very strong. The Gunners are unbeaten in seven meetings with the Albion, losing only one of nine clashes since the Qatar World Cup. This includes beating Fabian Hürzeler's team three times last season, picking up six precious Premier League points, as well as prevailing in a EFL Cup tie.

Arsenal's most recent visit to the Amex was one of the seminal moments of the Gunners' title winning campaign. On a mild Wednesday night in March, Bukayo Saka was the match winner by the South Coast as Arteta's team, frankly, did not play particularly well.

Brighton will come into this clash full of confidence, having fought back from 2-0 down to beat Manchester United 3-2 in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday. This is the first time the Red Devils have been beaten at Old Trafford when leading at half time in any competition since May 1984.

Thus, this clash with Brighton might just be the toughest test the Gunners have faced this season, but they'll rightly be confident of victory.
