Arsenal has been linked with a move for Alexander Isak for a long time, but can the club actually get the deal over the line?
Arsenal's need for a new striker has been well-documented for the best part of 18 months.
Having not brought reinforcements in during last summer, with the injuries to Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus, in January, many expect the Gunners to go after a forward to help ease the pressure on Kai Havertz, who at the time, was the only recognized forward Mikel Arteta had at his disposal.
Then the football gods intervened when no less than a day after the window shut, Havertz got injured and here we are.
Projecting to the summer, Arsenal's first port of call is to bring in a striker. There are no excuses.
Can Arsenal really sign Isak?
One name that has been consistently thrown up is Newcastle's Alexander Isak. The Magpies forward has been in superb form since coming into the league, and the Gunners are admirers of the striker.
But Arsenal won't be able to get Isak as easily as some think with Newcastle in a position of strength right now having just won the Carabao Cup, beating Liverpool, and look set to claim a Champions League spot for next season.
However, despite that, do the Gunners have a chance of getting a proposed deal over the line for Isak? Former Gunner Martin Keown doesn't think so.
"I just feel with Isak, now it’s going to be even more difficult to get him away from there,’ Keown said via TNT Sports. "The whole world is on it. It’s about finding these players before everybody else does."

It is hard to disagree with Keown here as the Gunners now face perhaps an impossible task to get the Magpies to agree to sell what could easily be described as their best player.
Plus, we haven't even mentioned the fee that it would take to get Isak out of Newcastle especially when the club is in such an advantageous position with winning a trophy and in the Champions League (as of now).
The longer it goes on, the less likely it feels like Arsenal will be able to pull off this move, and that's not to say the club shouldn't try it, because they absolutely should until the Magpies tell them hands off.
Will Arsenal get Isak in the summer? We feel really skeptical about it.
