However unlikely it may seem, it has been reported that Crystal Palace are desperate to come out of any deal with Arsenal for Eberechi Eze with a ready-made replacement.
The deal is in motion according to some sources. Crystal Palace are keen to land an Arsenal player as part of any agreement to sell Eberechi Eze. Highest on that list allegedly is Leandro Trossard.
Trossard has been linked with both Fenerbahce and Bayern Munich this week, making it unlikely that he would consider a move to Selhurst Park. Why would he? Both Bayern and Fenerbahce will play in the Champions League next season, although the Turkish side will enter the competition in the third qualifying round meaning that they will need to survive two rounds to earn their place in the 36 team league phase.

FA Cup winners, Palace, can only offer Trossard the UEFA Conference League after being demoted from the Europa League. The Eagles have been adjudged to have breached UEFA's multiclub ownership criteria.
Should Trossard turn down a move across London, Palace could turn their attention to Reiss Nelson as an alternative. Nelson spent last season on loan at Fulham who are already working on a deal to take him back to Craven Cottage.
Chelsea enter the race for Eberechi Eze's signature
However, Arsenal may not have things all their own way. Today, it has been reported by journalist Simon Phillips that Chelsea have entered the race for Eze's signature. Allegedly, the Blues held talks on Tuesday with the player's agents.
Chelsea's attempts to hijack a deal between Eze and Arsenal may fail at the first hurdle. It has been suggested that Eze only has eyes for Arsenal and that the Emirates is his preferred destination. No secret has been made of the fact that Eze is an Arsenal fan and would leap at the chance to play for his boyhood club.
However, Arsenal's reluctance to activate Eze's release clause of £65 million could play into another suitor's hands. Bayern Munich are reported to be monitoring the situation.
Eze has carved an excellent reputation for himself in the Premier League with Crystal Palace. He has scored 40 times in 167 matches, adding a further 28 assists.
