Considering there are 16 Arsenal players in action at the World Cup, it feels as though a Gunner is in action every time you turn on a game. Well, many of them have been busy and impressing, including Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard, who both rank highly when it comes to chances created.

Belgium have been very disappointing at this tournament so far, held to draws by both Egypt and then Iran, the latter a turgid goalless draw in LA. However, in that game, Leandro Trossard did create six chances, of which five were for Kevin De Bruyne, taking his tally to nine for the tournament.

This is second only to Declan Rice, who created six chances himself during a 0-0 draw on Tuesday night, this against Ghana in Foxborough. As a result, right now, Rice is out on his for this metric with ten, having created four chances during England's opener, assisting Harry Kane's header from a corner against Croatia down in Texas. In added Arsenal interest, Viktor Gyökeres also has seven chances created to his name, accumulating four during Sweden's demolition of Tunisia, and then three more against the Netherlands at the weekend.

So, how does this ranking compare to Arsenal's statistics last season?

Unsurprisingly, it is the two corner takes Rice and Bukayo Saka who ended up way out in front when it came to chance creation at Arsenal last season. Below them, Martin Ødegaard and Leandro Trossard were clear of the rest, with the Belgian seemingly continuing this form at the World Cup too. Ødegaard meantime played a gorgeous through ball for Erling Braut Håland to score during Norway's victory over Senegal, hoping to rediscover his best form.

The most interesting player though has to be Gyökeres. Despite scoring a respectable 14 Premier League goals, the Swede created only 20 chances for team mates and just four big chances. Well, he is already on seven chances created after only two World Cup games, indicative of the excellent form he showed towards the end of the club season.

This has to be encouraging for Mikel Arteta, who will surely be keeping an eye on Sweden's clash with Japan in Texas on Thursday night, and then the Blågult's knockout tie thereafter, even if Graham Potter's team aren't expected to remain in North America for too much longer.
