Arsenal have been hit with so many injuries in the last few years that it is hard to keep track.
Even this season, the Gunners have seen a lot of absences for players in every position due to one injury or the other. Some of their very best players have missed a lot of time, and it is slowly getting to a point where even the back-up options of those players are getting injured.
So, to see Arsenal doing as well as they are, with as many injuries as they have had this season, is commendable.
There are many clubs who are facing a similar amount of injuries this season, but there isn't a single one of those performing as well as Arsenal have.
One of the players who has been with Arsenal through thick and thin in the last three years is Declan Rice. Rice has played most games for Arsenal since joining in 2023, and has been one of the most consistent players in their entire roster.
Declan Rice’s bizarre Arsenal injury stat will catch fans off guard
However, there is one genuinely shocking stat that came about on Rice's injuries. According to Sky Sports' Sam Blitz, Declan Rice has the second-most injuries for an Arsenal player since the start of last season, with eight.
That is really, really absurd. The player on the top of that list is Ben White, and it is understandable to see why he is there, because he genuinely has missed so many games for Arsenal.
Rice, on the other hand, has missed a grand total of three Premier League games since joining the club in 2023. He has missed two games for Arsenal due to a toe injury last season, and apart from that, he has not been missing any games due to injuries.
So, to see him have eight injuries is genuinely absurd, knowing that seven of those resulted in no time missed.
This is one of the more bizarre statistics that I have come across, because typically, a player who has eight injuries usually misses at least eight games. In fact, seven of these eight injuries do not even show up on Rice's Transfermarkt page, because he did not miss any time due to them.
He has only officially missed time due to two injuries in his entire career, one being during his time at West Ham.
So, it is relieving in the sense that Rice only encounters minor injuries that don't really make him miss games for club or country. But, on the flip-side, he does tend to get injured a fair bit, even if it is minor knocks. So, that is worth something.
