Inter Milan is looking to replace Simone Inzaghi after his recent departure and they have turned their attention to an Arsenal legend, if you can call him that.
Inter Milan recently reached the final of the UEFA Champions League. This is a feat that Arsenal couldn't achieve after being beaten by Paris Saint-Germain. Unfortunately for the Italian side, it was the same fate that they suffered, even worse than Arsenal.
Despite being a world-class manager for Inter Milan, Simone Inzaghi's time at the club has come to an end. After it was accepted that he would leave the club, the historic side now finds themselves faced with the task of replacing him.
The potential replacement? Arsenal fans might want to listen up.
Fabrizio Romano confirms Inter Milan twist Arsenal fans want to hear
According to Fabrizio Romano, Cesc Fabregas could replace Simone Inzaghi as Inter Milan boss. The former Arsenal captain recently began his managerial career with Como, and he could achieve quite the Italian promotion here.
Romano claims that Fabregas is a top candidate alongside Roberto De Zerbi, and talks will begin with Inter Milan today. That list could expand, as Inter will be offered more options.
Look, Arsenal fans can run, but they can't hide from Cesc Fabregas. He is a former player who broke the hearts of many when he signed for Barcelona, then stabbed the hearts of even more when he signed for Chelsea later in his career.
The Arsenal fanbase is divided about whether Cesc Fabregas can be considered a club legend. For his contribution to the club alone? Absolutely. For his career choices after leaving Arsenal? Absolutely not.
Now, though, that's all in the past, and Cesc is focused primarily on his managerial career.
Look, we don't wanna prod the fire any more than it's already burning, but if Cesc continues his managerial credentials and ends up in the discussion to replace Mikel Arteta, he'd at least have the opportunity to salvage his Arsenal legacy.
Who knows?
