With the triple signing of, Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, Brentford's CDM Christian Nørgaard, and Real Sociadad's CDM Martín Zubimendi, Arsenal have already made considerable strides forward in this window.
It would appear that the summer spending spree has much further to run and now there is even talk that this could be Arsenal's best transfer window on record. Making a special guest appearance on The Gooner Talk with Tom Canton yesterday, YouTube's @fulltimetripp reacted positively to the suggestion that this could be the greatest ever window in Arsenal's history.
"I'd say it definitely could be. The rest of these major windows you see at max maybe two marquee players. In 2023/24 with Rice, Timber, Havertz and Raya you think oh, they're looking to actually bring something different and it's beyond two players. In isolation, I would say yes that would be our best ever window."@fulltimetripp
In addition to Kepa, Nørgaard and Zubimendi, the Gooners are still being linked with a number of top quality players, including two strikers, two left wingers, and an attacking midfielder.
Long running striker saga could be coming to an exciting conclusion
The long running saga with Sporting Sporting president Federico Varandas seems to be reaching a conclusion with the club seemingly happy to let Viktor Gyokeres leave for less that his transfer release clause. Reports that a five-year-deal has been agreed between the club and the player suggest this transfer looks close to being completed.
However, according to the Sun, advancements in the Gyokeres deal may bring an end to the talks with RB Leipzig over many fans preferred target, Benjamin Sesko. Negotiations between Arsenal and RB Leipzig over Sesko have allegedly stalled, although there are reports to the contrary.
Arsenal consider a move in-house for Noni Madueke
Elsewhere, the Gunners are linked with Real Madrid star Rodrygo, who is currently on duty in the World Club Cup. Therefore, any decision relating to an approach for the player may have to wait until the tournament reaches a conclusion.
Closer to home, reports that Arsenal have made contact with representatives of Chelsea's England winger Noni Madueke, may be met with a mixed reaction from Arsenal fans. Chelsea have allegedly made Madueke available this transfer window.
The cherry on the cake in this window could be the greatly anticipated acquisition of Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze. According to the Athletic, the player has a release clause in the region of £60 million, although Arsenal may not be keen to pay that much for a player who they deem to be separate from the pursuit of a left-winger or striker.
This could be the best Arsenal transfer window ever!
The discussion about whether this window could be the best ever is perhaps a difficult one to have without taking into account the impact that the incoming players had on the squad.
Even if Arsenal go on to sign all seven players (eight if we include Madueke), perhaps the signings of Raya, Rice, Timber and Havertz will prove the most significant.
Anyway, here are some highlights from most of the windows mentioned on the show yesterday. Perhaps, you can make your own mind up?
