Arsenal originally wanted Benjamin Sesko, but has that now changed?

For the best part of 12 months, it has been RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko that Arsenal has been hunting as its No. 1 striker target. But now, times might be changing.

Multiple things have seen fans cool their jets on the idea of Sesko signing, with his reported want of a release clause in his contract, to then his huge salary demands, which the Gunners aren't too keen to part ways with.

This has led the club to also pursue a deal with Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres, and it appears that maybe the club is shifting its attention away from Sesko and onto Viktor.

Per A Bola, the Gunners are ready to increase their bid for Gyokeres after the idea of signing Sesko seems to be losing steam.

It has now been too long for some fans that the Gunners have not signed a striker and pre-season begins next month, so we are quickly approaching gut-check time for the north London club.

Has Arsenal's striker approach shifted?

It has always been out of Sesko and Gyokeres, and based on the reports we are seeing, a move for Sesko now seems more complex and difficult than it needs to be, whereas a more for Viktor, while still tough, seems more straightforward.

While the signings of Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, and Kepa Arrizabalaga are a good start, the big fish needs to be reeled in and quickly.

However, one appears to be far more difficult than the other, despite Sesko following Arsenal's Instagram page over the past 24 hours. So, there's that.

In truth, we get the sense Arsenal fans right now prefer Sesko, but either he or Gyokeres is fine, just as long as one of them is signed in the coming weeks.

It was what cost the Gunners the Premier League title for some last year, and knowing the squad's biggest issue, the club simply has to get a deal over the line.

Will it be Sesko or Gyokeres?

Your guess is as good as mine.
