As the window nears closure, Arsenal face an important few days as they look to complete a transfer merry-go-round.

The Gunners have been busy in the market throughout the summer, but still have work to do as they try bring in one more player while also offloading a number of unwanted squad members. There are two moves that are the centre of attention in the window's final days.

Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta are looking to sell Jakub Kiwior, but with the Pole close to joining Porto, Arsenal need to complete a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie before sanctioning a sale.

It's obvious that the Gunners are only willing to sell Kiwior on if they can bring Hincapie in as a suitable replacement. However, it's unclear how a move for the Ecuadorian could pan out.

A number of reports have claimed Arsenal's preference would be to sign the defender on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy, but that depends on Leverkusen's willingness to approve the certain structure. However, if the price drops, the Gunners won't discount an outright purchase.

The Bundesliga side want Hincapie's €60million release clause activated or matched if a deal is to be struck, but Arteta's side are looking to secure the move for a package of around €50m. This will be helped by the player's desire to leave Leverkusen.

Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs reported the next 24-48 hours are viewed as important due to the Gunners wanting a deal done well in advance of deadline day. X user HandofArsenal claimed sporting director Andrea Berta has set an internal deadline as he doesn't want negotiations dragging into the final day of the window.

With Arsenal looking to agree a fee before the weekend, Kiwior's move to Porto lies in the balance. It is ready to be approved with the Poland international ready to fly to Portugal, but the Gunners will only do so once they have agreed a deal for Hincapie.

The coming days look like they could be huge for Arteta and his side. Arsenal must strike a deal for Hincapie otherwise they risk the possibility of Kiwior's sale completely collapsing.

A failure to agree deals on both fronts could be disastrous in the short and long-term. If Kiwior's move to Porto falls through, he could end up being extremely unhappy at the club come the end of the transfer window.

In an ideal world, the Gunners complete a deal for Hincapie and that allows them to move Kiwior on. He would be a good replacement and even potentially an improvement on the Pole. It would also prevent them from rushing and hunting for any panic deals on deadline day.

It'll be interesting to see how this situation pans out over the next few days.
