Is Arsenal's new-look front line starting to click?

Arsenal slammed home seven goals against PSV, but is that a solution or an outlier to the attacking woes?

Things clicked well for Arsenal against PSV, but can it be replicated against Manchester United?

Arsenal's attacking woes have been well documented since Kai Havertz went down with injury and in truth, the criticism was more than fair.

There was no pop or zip in the final third, and the Gunners struggled to create any clear-cut chances, and that left the club scoreless in back-to-back games.

But then PSV happened.

Arsenal and the new-look front line of Mikel Merino, Leandro Trossard, and Ethan Nwaneri burst to life, and so too Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice to hammer seven goals past PSV in the Champions League, and they were 3-0 up after 30 minutes.

But now the question is was that performance an outlier to the attacking problems that have plagued the team? Or did Mikel Arteta finally find a solution to make it work with what could easily be called a makeshift attack?

Has Arsenal solved its attacking problems?

We will get that answer against Manchester United at Old Trafford, who haven't kept a clean sheet in their last seven games in all competitions.

If the Gunners have found a goal-scoring solution, then one would imagine that the goals will flow.

"We need to look at threats from all areas," Arteta said via arsenal.com. "We lost very important wingers that were providing a lot for us in that final third and we’re looking to explore other options as well. The team has this capacity to adapt, we have a lot of players with great football intelligence to understand when to move and why, especially to do certain things. The other day certainly flowed and we saw actions and combinations that are very difficult to defend."

For Arsenal fans, the nightmare scenario is that the Gunners revert back to the toothless attack we saw a few weeks ago, and United has their way, but we are hopeful that the confidence gained from such a comprehensive win will propel Arsenal past their rivals.

Now, we don't say that with too much confidence, but after the PSV win, there is more confidence that the Gunners can score and win the game than there was two weeks ago.

We often say that profession sports is 90 percent above the shoulders, and perhaps the PSV result came at the right time for Arsenal, because at Old Trafford, you need to be confidence.

Was Arsenal's win against PSV a solution to the attacking woes, or an outlier? We're about to find out.
