Arsenal secured a 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford to begin the season in "good-ish" style.

Arsenal secured a rather uninspiring 1-0 win over Manchester United to open the Premier League season, and in truth, this time of the year, it is about getting wins any way you can.

While the Gunners were second-best for the majority of the first half, it was a Declan Rice corner that found its way to Riccardo Calafiori who headed home in the 13th minute, which would end up being the winner.

The Gunners' attacking woes were again plain to see, and Viktor Gyokeres got 60 minutes under his belt as he adjusts to life in the Premier League. Martin Zubimendi looked a little nervous early on but grew into the game, while defensively, Gabriel and William Saliba were stout, because, of course, right?

This time of the season is all about getting your football legs underneath you and stacking wins so you can build into the year, and the Gunners did what they needed to do, but there is ample room for improvement.

Gyokeres needs time to adapt

Mikel Arteta's shiny new weapon got 60 minutes of football under his belt, and it looked like he needed it. Viktor didn't cause too many issues for United's defense.

Granted, it was his first taste of Premier League football, and we didn't expect him to hit the ground running, Erling Haaland style, so chalk this one up to getting your feet wet as Gyokeres looks to get a hold on English football.
