Arsenal's brilliant run of form continues, even if the latest win does not look the best in fans' eyes.

Arsenal were able to get past Everton in a gritty 1-0 win at their newly made Hill Dickinson Stadium, and continued to be at the top of the Premier League table for yet another week.

Now, what that means in terms of going into Christmas day as the team at the top is a completely different conversation, but all I can say right now is that Arsenal look good, and Arsenal look different this time.

Even rival fans and former players don't doubt their quality nowadays - especially not their ability to get results without looking like the best version of themselves.

Mikel Arteta’s confidence in Arsenal is built on something rare

Mikel Arteta was asked about that in the post Everton press conference on Saturday night, and he talked about Arsenal's character and how they have improved so much this season.

He said: “What gives me belief and confidence is the level of performance and the consistency of that. That's very, very difficult to do in this league and that means that the team is constantly there.

Enjoy the process of winning and you're going to have to go to difficult places, you're going to have difficult moments, we have dealt with a lot of things already and we are there.

"And what we're going to do is work for the next game, try to improve and make sure that everybody is with that spirit and energy and enjoying that.”

Arteta is absolutely bang on with his quotes. Premier League is the toughest domestic league in world football. There is so much happening every week, with so much quality in almost all teams competing in the set-up, that you sometimes forget how tough it is to actually go to certain stadiums and win.

Arteta's main goal right now is not really to look good. It is for Arsenal to win games. That is always the most important bit. Going to tough stadiums like this one, like the Stadium of Light and so many others is also really, really tough, and Arteta's Arsenal seem to get some sort of result in many of those places.

All of this will help these Arsenal players grow a lot. They will be taught more from these games than they will from a 5-0 win or a 3-0 triumph. These games are what make the mentality of a champion, and Arteta is trying to instil that every single week. Arsenal are incredibly consistent, and that is what they get their confidence from.
