Morgan Rogers is a transfer target high on Arsenal's list this summer and he is projected to be a costly signing if a deal is secured, but he has now given his own thoughts on his potential price tag.

With Elliot Anderson joining Manchester City for a fee of £116million, the media and the fans, particularly those of Aston Villa, have been quick to claim that the Europa League winner is worth even more than his compatriot.

£130m is the number that has been stated by many, bringing mixed feelings and opinions, but Rogers himself has now spoken out on the potential fee that could see him move to the Gunners in the summer transfer window.

It emerged in May that Arsenal were 'serious contenders' to sign Rogers this summer at a point where he was valued at £80m+ by Aston Villa with a sale expected to happen if a deal that suited all parties could be struck.

However, subsequent transfers of other Premier League players have caused his valuation to inflate by £50m to £130m in just over a month.

When asked if he thinks he is worth that amount of money, Rogers said: "I'm not sure if I'm worth that! Of course, it's nice to obviously hear that from people, but I don't let outside noise dictate me. I'm just going to keep focused, keep being me.”

As most would have expected, the 18-cap England international stayed humble and doubted he was worth that much, but everyone knows the final fee he is sold for won't be down to him, but will be agreed by Aston Villa and the purchasing club.

If the Gunners are to pay the £130m Rogers is valued at, he would break the record as the most expensive English player of all time, which was set just a matter of days ago with Anderson's £116m move to Man City.

The fee would also see his possible transfer surpass the £105m Arsenal paid to West Ham for Declan Rice in July 2023 and the £115m Real Madrid splashed for Jude Bellingham the same year.

It is an absolutely ludacris amount of money, but if Villa are seeing other players leave clubs for high fees, they will no doubt look to get the best deal they can for Rogers.

It remains to be seen if the Gunners will be willing to pay such an amount to sign the 23-year-old, but there is no denying he would be a brilliant addition to the squad if they can get a transfer over the line.

The player doesn't think he's worth that much. It just depends if Arsenal think he is and are ready to part with the cash to secure his signature.

Rogers is currently preparing for a World Cup round of 16 tie against Mexico with England so any certain decision on his future will likely be made after the conclusion of the tournament.
