Myles Lewis-Skelly wants to stay at Arsenal despite interest from rivals

Myles Lewis-Skelly wants to remain at Arsenal amid interest from Premier League rivals, according to James McNicholas of The Athletic.

News broke on Tuesday morning that the versatile youngster had been offered to multiple clubs in the English top flight, including the Gunners' arch-rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, the latest reports suggest that Lewis-Skelly will be staying put in North London as he looks to fight against top competition for his place in Mikel Arteta's squad.

Lewis-Skelly is reportedly keen to remain with his boyhood club and is said to be fully focused on establishing himself in Arteta's plans for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.

Despite his performances attracting interest from other clubs, including two rivals, the 19-year-old is happy at Arsenal and has no interest in exploring a move away from the red half of North London, with his attention being on the fight for regular minutes next season.

Having played regularly throughout the Gunners' pre-season campaign, the club are not actively looking to sell the Hale End graduate.

Following the signing of Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle, Lewis-Skelly will be challenging his teammates for gametime just as he had to do last season. Despite breaking through as the first-choice left back in the 2024/25 campaign to make 39 first team appearances, he struggled for chances the following term.

Riccardo Calafiori found himself to be the starting option on the left side of defence and Piero Hincapié's arrival from Bayer Leverkusen pushed their English counterpart further down the pecking order. However, he established himself as a midfield option in the late stages of the season to play a crucial part in his side's Premier League title success.

Lewis-Skelly started in a central role in a 3-0 victory over Fulham in early May and his impressive performances from there earned him a starting place in the Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, a game in which he was one of his side's standouts.

He has already faced a battle for minutes during his Arsenal career and there is no reason he won't be able to do so once again in the 2026/27 season. Lewis-Skelly became a Premier League champion with his boyhood club last campaign and in the words of HandofArsenal, he is "Arsenal through and through."

There is currently no danger of him leaving the Gunners, but The Athletic did emphasise there are expected to be departures before the transfer window closes and the club are conscious they may need to be flexible in their plans. For now though, Lewis-Skelly is remaining an Arsenal player.
