Noni Madueke is flying high after last night's performance. So much so, that the England international feels like Arsenal could not only win the Premier League, but the Champions League, too.

Arsenal sit at the top of both competitions, and they are comfortably the best team in the world right now. Last night's performance, in which Noni Madueke won the Player of the Match award, helped the silence the anxieties surrounding the weekend's loss.

Make no mistake about it, Arsenal is still confident, and that poor result at Villa Park was merely a blip.

Noni Madueke wants to finally grant Arsenal fans' longtime wish

Speaking after the match, Noni Madueke made a claim that Arsenal fans will hope is also felt by his teammates. Brave enough to put his predictions out there, the former Chelsea attacker feels like Arsenal could win the biggest double in the world.

In his own words, Noni Madueke said: “I feel we can win the Champions League. I feel like we can win the Premier League as well.”

Simply put, and quite difficult to disagree with. Arsenal is top of both competitions and they are top without some of their most important players. When key players start to return for selection, who's to say the Gunners cannot kick on and even step it up a level?

Arsenal hasn't won the Premier League in two decades. They have never won the Champions League, either. Therefore, claims that they can win one is bold enough, let alone winning both in the same season.

Nevertheless, you are only as good as your current league position. As we see consistently in sports, streaks must come to an end. And they do always end.

We get the feeling, as fans, that this Arsenal team is capable of making history. Just last night, Gabriel Martinelli broke the all-time consistent goal-scoring record in the Champions League, scoring in five consecutive Champions League appearances. No Arsenal player had done that before.

Of course, individual awards only count for so much. For players, they matter, but for fans, they count for very little. What matters most is team honors, so it was great to see Noni Madueke immediately turn his attention to that after winning the Player of the Match.

If Noni Madueke's prediction comes true, then it would be Arsenal's best season ever objectively. The Invincibles will always be remembered for changing the landscape of English football, but the Champions League is what has eluded Arsenal throughout its entire history.
