2 key Bayern Munich players set to miss crucial second leg vs Arsenal
- Bayern Munich likely without two key players for next week's second leg
- Alphonso Davies suspended after picking up third booking
- Serge Gnabry picked up hamstring injury
Bayern Munich are set to be without Alphonso Davies and Serge Gnabry for next Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal.
The Gunners' stellar league form in 2024 saw them head into Tuesday's first leg as favourites against a Bayern side that's finally set to relinquish their Bundesliga crown following 12 years of dominance.
However, Mikel Arteta's quickly discovered that the six-time winners, drenched in Champions League 'eritage, were not to be messed with. Their supreme attacking talent allowed them to capitalise on Arsenal mistakes as they cancelled out Bukayo Saka's opener and took a 2-1 half-time lead.
Leandro Trossard ensured the hosts wouldn't be taking a deficit into next week's second leg, where Thomas Tuchel will have to do some tinkering to his left-hand side.

Alphonso Davies is a certainty to miss the return leg after he picked up his third booking of the Champions League campaign early on in the contest. Davies recovered well and produced a fine performance against Saka, who'll likely face up against able replacement Raphael Guerreiro next week.
However, Tuchel also has concerns over first leg goalscorer and former Gunner Serge Gnabry. The winger, who has struggled to hit his 2019/20 heights due to nagging injuries in recent years, pulled up again on Tuesday night.
“Unfortunately, Serge Gnabry will be out again. He felt something and it’s a hamstring injury," the Bayern boss said post-match.
Gnabry missed 11 games because of a hamstring issue earlier in the season, and if it's a recurrence of the same problem, the winger almost certainly won't feature at the Allianz next Wednesday. Kingsley Coman, Mathys Tel or Thomas Muller are likely candidates to replace Gnabry, with Jamal Musiala also capable of drifting wide left.
Arsenal's own left-hand side woes on Tuesday will force Arteta into a rethink. Gabriel Martinelli earned no change out of Joshua Kimmich, while Jakub Kiwior was hooked at half-time having been torn apart by Leroy Sane. Trossard's impact off the bench suggests he's in contention to start next week, while the security provided by Takehiro Tomiyasu has to be considered at left-back.
