It is improbable that teams like Chelsea and Manchester United will continue to fall as far below expectations as they have recently for much longer, much financial fair play (FFP) could prohibit them from challenging for the title at least next season, which will be a huge boost for Arsenal.

Chelsea in particular have widely reported concerns regarding FFP, with some sources suggesting that the Blues need to sell close to £100m worth of players before June 30 just to comply with the current FFP period, and that is without taking any possible summer signings into account.

Manchester United are thought to be in a similar, though far less severe, situation, whereby they will need to sell players before being able to sign anybody, which will do little to help their new era under the co-ownership of INEOS.

If we presume that these financial issues will rule Chelsea and Manchester United out of the running for the Premier League title for at least the next season, then that makes it four of the so-called 'big six', who are unlikely to stand between Arsenal and the Premier League title.
