Arsenal host Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening, in their first home game of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League campaign and will be looking to pick up their maiden victory in this year's edition.

The Gunners beat Leicester 4-2 in their previous outing and secured the three points in dramatic circumstances, scoring two goals in second-half stoppage time. Last time out in the Champions League, Mikel Arteta's side drew 0-0 away to Atalanta to leave them in 16th place in the new-look table with seven matchdays remaining.

As Arsenal go in search of their first win in this season's Champions League, there are three key talking points ahead of their exciting encounter with PSG.

1. First win is crucial

Arsenal drew 0-0 with Atalanta in the opening game of their 2024/25 Champions League campaign and are in search of their first victory when they take on PSG.

It is early in the competition and while some will feel now is not the time to be too bothered, it is crucial for the Gunners to pick up their first win sooner rather than later. Mikel Arteta will want his side to collect three points to ensure they do not fall behind their fellow big clubs as they go hunting for automatic qualification into the round of 16.

To beat a team of PSG's standard would also be a huge statement of intent for Arteta and his Arsenal squad. It would show that the north London side will no longer bow down to the 'big boys' in the competition and instead be ready to take them on.
