Earlier this week, Pain in the Arsenal published a report which stated that Mikel Arteta would like to reignite his interest in Douglas Luiz this summer. At face value, this looks like an incredible idea for a transfer but how does it impact the players? Well, here are 3 winners and 3 losers from Arsenal signing Douglas Luiz in summer...

3 winners and 3 losers from Arsenal signing Douglas Luiz in summer

Declan Rice (winner)

Declan Rice is the jack of all trades and master of them all too. At times this season, he has multitasked with a handful of different midfield chores but he has balanced his responsibilities incredibly well.

Much like Rice, Douglas Luiz is a well-trained and all-round midfielder. Therefore, the two will complement each other well. When one is carrying out attacking responsibilities, the other can sit back to cover.

Mohamed Elneny (loser)

The day that Arsenal part ways with Mohamed Elneny will a sad day for everybody involved with the club but unfortunately, it could come soon. As stated in the original news coverage, Mohamed Elneny is expected to leave the club this summer, especially if Douglas Luiz arrives.

It makes sense, Elneny hardly gets game-time as it is, so his minutes would only decrease if Luiz were signed. Hopefully, the club's paths will cross with Elneny again in a coaching capacity.
