Emile Smith Rowe (loser)

Emile Smith Rowe is still yet to make a real name for himself after his unfortunate injury ruled him out last season. After being one of the club's best players in the 2021/22 season, Smith Rowe has struggled for game-time over the last two seasons.

He played well against Luton Town in midweek but I hate to say it; I can't see Emile Smith Rowe pushing for game-time if Joshua Kimmich joined the pecking order.

Kai Havertz (winner)

Havertz isn't an out-and-out midfielder and if anything, he plays better as a striker anyway. Therefore, there isn't competition between Havertz and Kimmich.

In fact, it would be a welcomed surprise for Havertz to be joined by his countryman at the Emirates Stadium and as someone who has acclimatised to the Premier League from the Bundesliga, Havertz could help Kimmich settle in.
