Arsenal have now released their away kit for the 2024-25 season and it is another brilliant one, as has been the case with Adidas as the club's kit manufacturer.

Since the beginning of the Premier League, the club have produced some outstanding away kits but a few poorer designs have slipped through the cracks. Here is a ranking of Arsenal's away kits of the Premier League era from worst to best.

29. 2012-13

The penultimate Arsenal away kit produced by Nike was a poor one. Featuring a purple base colour and black hoops, it was difficult to make out the two separate colours. The two darker colours just did not complement each other well.

Most fans will remember this shirt as the one worn in the 2-0 victory away to Liverpool that saw Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla score their first goals for the club.

28. 2014-15

Aaron Ramsey

In Puma's first season as Arsenal's kit manufacturer, they used the classic colours of yellow and blue for the away strip. However, a strange design used on the shoulder and collar did not flatter the shirt at all.

Aaron Ramsey will remember this kit well however as he scored an unbelievable goal against Galatasaray in the Champions League while wearing it.

27. 2013-14

Nike kept it simple for their last away kit as a manufacturer, but it disappointed. It again used the classic Arsenal away colour of yellow as the primary feature of the shirt and also featured a blue collar and sleeve cuffs.

While it was a nice use of traditional club colours, the kit was ultimately boring due to the lack of a design and pattern.

26. 2023-24

This was the first real miss since Adidas returned as the club's kit maker, and while it certainly grew on fans throughout last season, it really was not a great kit. The use of fluorescent yellow and green as the shirt's base was a bit too much for some. Black patterns were spread across the shirt in symbolism of the map of Islington.

Despite the poor design, the shirt will be fondly remembered by fans for several moments throughout a great season that saw a second consecutive title challenge.

25. 2017-18

Puma did not have a knack for making brilliant away shirts for Arsenal and this was no exception. The light blue colour was a nice touch but the gradient design made it look almost more like a training kit.

This shirt was worn as the club began to fall into its darkest points, so it is often forgotten by fans.

In the club's final season with Puma as its kit manufacturer, the away strip was yet another disappointment. The faint red stripe across the shirt were difficult to fully see against the dark navy base colour.

This shirt did see some good moments however with Aaron Ramsey finishing off a great team move against Fulham with a beautiful flick and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's hat-trick away to Valencia in the Europa League semi-finals.

23. 2011-12

Arsenal's Dutch striker and captain Robi

The contrast between the light and dark blue on this kit was nice, but the diagonal parting between the two was a strange design, to say the least. This shirt also featured a temporary new crest designed to celebrate Arsenal's 125th anniversary.

It is mostly a miserable reminder of one of the darkest days in the Gunners' history, that being the 8-2 defeat away to Manchester United.

22. 2020-21

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The shirt's white base with unique red design was a reference to the iconic marble halls of Arsenal's old stadium Highbury. This nice throwback has been overshadowed however as being part of the final season of Arsenal's 'banter era'.

In all honesty, when worn the shirt had players and fans looking like they had just come away from a crime scene. Perhaps the reference to Highbury could have been made with a slightly different design.

21. 1996-97

Paul Merson

This shirt utilized the traditional Arsenal yellow of the 1990s with a navy collar and sleeves. The half-and-half design used on the sleeves was slightly strange, while the rest of the kit was relatively boring.

It was used during Arsene Wenger's first season at the club and would have seen the beginning of Arsenal's most successful period.

20. 2015-16

The 2015-16 away kit combined a gold base colour with a navy collar and sleeves. The gold colouring was said to be inspired by Arsenal's desire to finally win the Premier League again.

As many will remember, this did not happen as the Gunners finished the season second behind surprise champions Leicester City.

19. 2010-11

This kit featured yet another yellow shirt but also included maroon pinstripes. The sleeve cuffs were also coloured maroon.

Overall, it was a nice kit as it was kept simple but also included a subtle design. However, it is one of the less memorable of Arsenal's away kits.

18. 2009-10

Andrey Arshavin

This kit was predominantly dark navy but featured lighter accents. Subtle pinstripes covered the whole shirt, whereas lighter blue was used for the sleeve cuffs and the collar trim.

Like its 2010-11 counterpart, it is another of the Gunners' more forgettable kits.

17. 1999-01

Arsenal's traditional 1990s yellow was used once again for the final away shirt of the millennium. It also featured a navy collar and sleeves along with navy features on each side of the shirt.

It was the first to feature the club's iconic SEGA sponsor and was used for both the 1999-00 and the 2000-01 seasons.

16. 2008-09

Andrey Arshavin

This kit's base was a darker shade of yellow, and black covered the shoulder area and sleeves. A single red stripe ran from the collar to the sleeve cuffs.

Andrey Arshavin produced the best moment of his Arsenal career while wearing this kit when he scored four goals in a 4-4 draw away to Liverpool.

15. 2016-17

Alexis Sanchez

This kit was yet another to use yellow colouring with a subtle pinstripe design on the shirt. Dark grey was used on the fold-over collar and sleeves.

It is mostly remembered for the brilliant hat-trick Alexis Sanchez scored in a 5-1 victory away to West Ham.

14. 1993-94

One of the first to use the 1990s Arsenal yellow colour, this kit featured dark navy Adidas style stripes on each corner of the shirt.

A red design was used on the shirt's collar and sleeve cuffs. A great kit, it is one of those well remembered by Arsenal fans.

13. 1994-95

Stepping away from the yellow, this kit used a dark navy as the base colour and featured lighter lightning bolts running down the shirt.

A lighter blue was used on the collar and as a block feature on the sleeves.

For the first Arsenal away kit they had produced in 25 years, Adidas certainly did not disappoint. The yellow colouring was complimented well by navy accents and logos.

The pattern on the shirt was a throwback to the club's iconic "Bruised Banana" kit from the early 1990s. This kit is slightly marred by the poor season Arsenal had.

11. 1997-98

Marc Overmars

Another to use is Arsenal's iconic 1990s yellow; this kit also featured a navy collar and sleeve cuffs. An almost complete block of navy ran across the sponsor in a unique but brilliant addition to the shirt.

Marc Overmars will remember this kit well with it being the one he wore when he scored his famous goal to give Arsenal a 1-0 victory away to Manchester United in 1998.

10. 2021-22

Emile Smith Rowe

Inspired by the club's classic yellow shirts, this kit featured a lighter yellow colour with a dark navy used for the collar, stripes and sleeve cuffs. It was also the first to feature the cannon instead of the standard crest in over 30 years.

Emile Smith Rowe enjoyed the form of his life this season and plenty of his best moments came while wearing this kit.

This kit featured predominantly blue colouring with a subtle yellow stripe on each side of the central crest and sponsor.

When thinking of this kit, Arsenal fans will always visualise their controversial 2-0 defeat to Manchester United, the match that ended their 49-game unbeaten streak.

In reference to the away kits used in Arsenal's early years, this kit featured a white coloured shirt with maroon trimmings on the collar and sleeves.

The two colours worked well together and were accompanied by text across the shirt detailing Herbert Chapman's ground-breaking football innovations. Ultimately, this was a very nice touch by the club and Nike.

A patterned black base colour with metallic gold features made this kit a modern classic and one that will be remembered for years.

Arsenal fans will look back on this kit as being part of the first title challenge under Mikel Arteta. It produced some great moments with Jorginho's late winner against Aston Villa certainly one of them.

6. 2002-03

The first to feature the club's new crest, this shirt featured a modern design with navy clouring and subtle red stripes. It included a striking light blue graphic across the front of the shirt.

Thierry Henry enjoyed perhaps his greatest season as an Arsenal player during this campaign and produced plenty of brilliant moments while wearing this kit.

A navy and lighter blue colour combination was used for this kit. The shirt featured a large lightning bolt design struck down the centre along with a subtle red design on the sleeve cuffs.

Plenty of club legends wore this kit and one easy to visualise is Dennis Bergkamp. This kit was used during the Non-Flying Dutchman's first season at the club and he enjoyed some great moments while wearing it.

This kit kept it simple with the traditional yellow colouring and a black collar and pattern. It featured a central crest and sponsor and was also the final shirt to include the O2 sponsor. It was used again for the 2006-07 season but with Fly Emirates featured as the club's new sponsor.

Thierry Henry wore this kit when he ran through half the Real Madrid team to secure a 1-0 victory for Arsenal at the Santiago Bernabeu. The club also wore the kit in the 2006 Champions League final defeat to Barcelona.

3. 2003-04

Nike again made use of Arsenal's traditional yellow away colour and included a blue collar on an overly plain shirt.

Despite being a simple design, this kit is fondly remembered for being part of the club's greatest achievement, the Invincibles. It was also notoriously worn during the controversial 'Battle of Old Trafford' in 2003.

This kit's gold base colour was accompanied by navy blue features and subtle red accents.

It was worn throughout the 2001-02 double-winning season and was the kit in use for the famous 1-0 victory at Old Trafford that handed the club the Premier League title.

Arsenal's first away kit of the Premier League era was carried over from the previous season and featured a unique design, which has since been nicknamed the "Bruised Banana."

It is by far the most iconic kit in the club's history and was worn by legends such as Ian Wright, Tony Adams and David Rocastle.
