Positive #2 - Another strong showing from Raya

Raya's world-class save stole the headlines last weekend, and rightly so. Following his permanent arrival over the summer, the Spaniard has grown into a cornerstone of the Arsenal side, and he proved once more why he is the preferred number one.

Comfortable on the ball, active on claiming crosses, and a reliable shot-stopper to boot, it was another strong performance for Raya against Brighton.

The opposition swarmed forward in numbers to attack after Lewis Dunk threaded his through ball, and it looked an incredibly difficult situation to control, even for a defence as formidable as that of Arsenal's. Although Raya managed to parry the first one out, the yellow shirts were simply too much, and the goal shouldn't be blamed on the man between the sticks.

Negative #2 - Issues at left-wing

After Leandro Trossard's off-the-bench heroics last time out against Aston Villa, many thought that in the ongoing period of Martinelli's form slump, perhaps the Belgian could earn another opportunity to shine from minute one.

Subsequently, Arteta made the decision to start Trossard against his former employers, Brighton. A few nice moves weren't enough to make a difference however, and his opposition full-back generally had the better of him for the most part.

Trossard was inevitably switched out for a defender, following Rice's red card, so he may not have had enough chances, but what fans did see, was generally more of the same. The 29-year-old rarely ever fails to impress in substitute cameos, yet he sometimes struggles to match such quality when starting.

In any case, neither Martinelli or Trossard, from starting roles, have displayed enough merit comparable to the other on-form Arsenal forwards. Perhaps the late deadline day acquisition of Raheem Sterling could be something to address this issue.
