According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have lined up two goalkeepers to replace Aaron Ramsdale on transfer deadline day. However, only one signing will be pushed over the line.

Where has the summer gone? Today is somehow the summer transfer deadline day, meaning Arsenal must complete any deal before 11pm today, BST.

Heading into the transfer window, the future of Aaron Ramsdale was under the microscope. After he fell out of the fray last season, a transfer away from Arsenal was always best for his career.

Yesterday, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Aaron Ramsdale was close to being sold to Southampton. So, naturally, Arsenal are hoping to replace him on transfer deadline day, but who could they sign to replace Ramsdale?

According to Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter), Arsenal have reached a verbal agreement to sign Neto from AFC Bournemouth. It would be a loan move and Arsenal are ready to progress onto the medical.

However, Arsenal will only sanction a medical for Neto, if the deal for Joan Garcia falls through. Joan Garcia would be signed permanently and the Espanyol goalkeeper is still believed to be the number one option for Mikel Arteta.

So, it could be a fairly lacklustre summer transfer deadline day for Arsenal fans. In truth, battling all day for a backup goalkeeper is not the most awe-envoking business in the world.

However, Mikel Arteta has every right to feel confident about his squad for the season ahead. Arsenal have already begun the season with two wins and a clean sheet in both matches.

That is not to say that Arsenal won't be tempted by any market opportunities. If a golden opportunity presents itself, then Mikel Arteta and Edu the cook would be in no position to pass that opportunity up.
