Arsenal face Manchester City this weekend, in their most challenging match of the season so far. Etihad Stadium hasn't been kind to the Gunners in recent seasons but if any Arsenal side can break a bad hoodoo, it's this one under Mikel Arteta.

The question on every Arsenal fan's mind, though, is whether or not Bukayo Saka will play. In case you missed it, Bukayo Saka returned early from international duty, not playing a single match for England. Naturally, this leads many to assume that something is wrong, since Saka is not the type of player to miss out on any action.

Arsenal injury news as journalist shares key Bukayo Saka injury update

According to a positive Bukayo Saka injury update from Charles Watts (via Caught Offside), Saka is expected to be okay to face Manchester City at the weekend. His withdrawal from the England squad should not concern fans as it was likely a precautionary measure.

In his own words, Watts said: “I do expect Bukayo Saka to be fit. From the conversations I’ve had, I do not get the impression that his withdrawal from the England squad is much to be concerned about, the issue was described to me as a ‘slight muscle injury’, but it’s not thought to be serious. Arsenal will make a late call on Saka, but the hope right now is that he will make the trip to Manchester.”

Undoubtedly, this is incredible news for Arsenal fans. If there is even the slightest chance of Bukayo Saka being fit, he's more than likely to play. After all, Arteta isn't the kind of manager to take it easy on his best player, given that Saka is the Arsenal player with the most appearances under Mikel Arteta.

Pain in the Arsenal will publish further Arsenal injury news in the buildup to Manchester City away. Hopefully, though, there will only be positives to report.
