Arsenal remain unfazed by Manchester United scouting their striker target
- Arsenal are linked with Joshua Zirkzee
- Manchester United have sent scouts to watch him
- This will not deter Mikel Arteta from his plan

Arsenal are pretty clinical in front of goal recently, so it seems bizarre to say that they need to sign a striker in the summer transfer window. However, the point remains that the Gunners need a new focal-point in attack, despite their goals coming from all over the pitch. Mikel Arteta has a plan and he will stick to it; the goals of late have only come as a nice bonus.
Arsenal have been linked to a plethora of fine centre forwards, so Mikel Arteta has the pick of a great bunch. One name which crops up less often is Joshua Zirkzee of Bologna. The 22-year-old Dutch striker is on Arsenal's shortlist as they eye a number of striker options.
James Cormack of Pain in the Arsenal recently described Zirkzee as a "project option" who is yet to establish himself as a killer in front of goal. I have to say, I agree with this, since Zirkzee has netted 11 goals in 28 games across all competitions for the Italian outfit this season. This is not much of an improvement on the productivity displayed by Arsenal this season, despite the immense potential Zirkzee has.

According to Tuttosport, Manchester United had scouts go out to Italy to watch Joshua Zirkzee in action at the weekend against Atalanta. They would've been treated to a fine display, as Zirkzee scored a goal and played 81 minutes before being subbed off.
However, this will not deter Mikel Arteta from attempting to land Joshua Zirkzee in the summer. As per Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Arsenal retain an interest in the 22-year-old and he is set to cost around £68m. This is money which Arsenal certainly have and it could even be funded by a series of player sales in the summer.
Do you think Joshua Zirkzee would suit Arsenal?
