Arsenal discovered the teams they will face in Thursday's UEFA Champions League draw as it participates in the competition for the second consecutive season.

As part of the competition's new format, the Gunners have been drawn to face eight different clubs and will be looking to make it to the knockout stage by qualifying from the new league phase.

Mikel Arteta's side will face Paris Saint-Germain, Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb, and Monaco at home. The Gunners will then travel to play Inter Milan, Atalanta, Sporting Lisbon, and Girona.

With arguably one of the more favourable draws for the league phase, let's take a look at Arsenal's head-to-head record against each of their Champions League opponents.

Arsenal have been handed a home tie against French champions Paris Saint-Germain, whom they have played four times. With one victory and three draws against their upcoming opponents, the Gunners boast a decent record.

The two sides first met in the semi-finals of the 1993-94 European Cup Winners' Cup. The Gunners ran out 2-1 victors on aggregate and went on to beat Parma in the final. Their most recent meeting came in the 2016-17 Champions League group stage. Nothing could separate the two sides as they played out a 1-1 draw at Parc des Princes and a 2-2 draw at Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's side will be pleased to hold a decent home record against PSG, with one win and one draw, and will no doubt be eager to maintain this come their encounter.

Perhaps the toughest test of Arsenal's Champions League matchups is the trip they will make to Inter Milan. Despite both clubs being regular features in European competition over the years, they have met just twice, winning one game each.

The Gunners first met Inter at Highbury in the 2003-04 Champions League group stage but fell to a disappointing 3-0 defeat. Arsene Wenger earned their revenge however when they thumped Inter 5-1 at the San Siro in the return fixture, a match that is remembered as one of Arsenal's greatest European nights.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping his team can continue their 100% away record when they travel to face the Serie A champions.
