Aaron Ramsdale is currently enjoying himself at EURO 2024. While he hasn't made an appearance for England, he is unsurprisingly at the forefront of the nation's celebrations. This is something that Arsenal fans are used to, since Ramsdale has always been more concerned with his teammates receiving their flowers than himself.

However, Arsenal fans may have already seen the last of Aaron Ramsdale in an Arsenal jersey. Unfortunately, the wise decision to sign David Raya permanently from Brentford doesn't come without its consequences. While the Golden Glove winner deserved a permanent place in the squad, it does mean that Aaron Ramsdale is likely to be sold.

At least, this is the general consensus. While no fan wants to see Ramsdale leave, it would be nice to see him flourish elsewhere. After all, he's good enough to start for most teams in the world so he needs to move somewhere who can facilitate his development with consistent game-time.

Arsenal submit first bid to replace Aaron Ramsdale with 18-year-old

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal may already be preparing for his departure. The Italian transfer expert has indicated that Arsenal have submitted their first proposal to Ajax to sign their 18-year-old goalkeeper Tommy Setford. With a deal that expires in 2025, Ajax may feel financially incentivised to sell.

It works in Arsenal's favour that they obviously have a great relationship with Ajax. This was shown last summer, when the deal involving Jurrien Timber was handled with great maturity and encouragement from both sides. Having these kinds of relationships with other clubs is a result of Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta's personalities and should not be overlooked.

The goalkeeper plays for England U20, showing how far ahead he is of his development. He is yet to make a senior appearance for club or country but he is certainly held in high regard and after all, Ajax are known to produce the world's best young players.

What's more is that Fabrizio Romano claimed that Tommy Setford is keen on the move to Arsenal. It is likely he sees it as a golden opportunity for progression and to learn under David Raya, who is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.

Do you think Arsenal should sign Tommy Setford?
