Mikel Arteta shortlists his ideal Thomas Partey replacement

It looks like Thomas Partey will be sold this summer. The Ghana international who was a pivotal member of the squad last season has fallen out of favour in the Arsenal lineup this season and in fairness, his poor injury record hasn't helped him.

Needless to say, Partey is an exceptional player when he is fit but unfortunately, having him fully fit is a rarity these days.

Therefore, according to Football Insider, Arsenal are prepared to accept £25m for Thomas Partey to be sold.

I must say, this valuation is very disappointing. Arsenal have a poor record of losing money on signings, even those who improved whilst in North London. For context, Partey was originally signed £45m so this is yet another example of Arsenal losing money on their players.

The good news, though, is that Arsenal have already lined up his replacement. The source states that Mikel Arteta sees Douglas Luiz as the perfect option to replace Partey in the midfield.

Victor Osimhen close to joining Paris Saint-Germain

Arsenal's interest in Victor Osimhen seems to have evened out in recent weeks. At the start of the year, Arsenal were seriously tipped to sign the Nigerian striker but as time has elapsed and we get closer to the summer transfer window opening, his name does not get mentioned as much.

This could be because Osimhen is actually closer to joining Paris Saint-Germain. That is according to Il Mattino, though, who also claim that Chelsea remain interested, but it looks like PSG is his most likely destination.

Arsenal make an offer for Joshua Zirkzee

Fear not, Arsenal fans. Osimhen may have escaped Mikel Arteta's grasp but another striker could very much be in the same grasp.

According to Tuttosport, Arsenal have already made contact with Joshua Zirkzee's representatives. They wish to tie the deal up early, hence the early contact and so much so, Arsenal have offered Zirkzee a five-year contract with £99,000 per week in wages.

Of course, there will be competition for Zirkzee, but it's good to see Arsenal are being proactive in the race for a new striker this summer.
