Arsenal face STRONG competition for Michael Olise signing
Arsenal are increasingly linked with a move for Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise. The 22-year-old French winger has been on Mikel Arteta's radar for some time, as he showed interest in signing him throughout the 2022/23 season too.
However, if Arteta is planning to pursue a move for Michael Olise, then he should expect strong competition from some of Europe's financial superpowers. According to a report from Football Insider, Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus will rival Arsenal in the race to sign Michael Olise.
The Crystal Palace standout player has been on the cusp of a big European move for some time now. It remains to be seen whether he stays in London or moves elsewhere but one thing's for sure - It will make an interesting transfer battle.
Arsenal could smash their spending record
Last summer was a memorable transfer window for Arsenal as they set a big new spending record. In the 2023/24 summer transfer window, Arsenal spent a grand total of more than €230m on new players, including their record signing Declan Rice.
It is expected that this summer, Arsenal will smash that €230m record again. This is aided by the financial boost secured by reaching the last eight of the Champions League, alongside Premier League money and some big-money player sales, as per Football Transfers.
The report also states that Viktor Gyokeres is Arsenal's transfer priority, which is a welcomed bonus.
Barcelona join the race for Alexander Isak
It is well documented that Arsenal would like to sign Alexander Isak as the Newcastle United striker is one of the many options considered by Mikel Arteta and Edu.
However, they have received a blow in their race. According to The Sun, Barcelona have joined the race to sign Alexander Isak as they hope to navigate a deal with Newcastle which would suit both club's financial situations.
While the report does not state this, it does not take a genius to predict that Newcastle would prefer to sell to Barcelona, rather than strengthen a Premier League rival. Time will tell what happens with this deal but it's good that Arsenal have alternatives lined up.
