Barring a dramatic and unforeseen move in the last week of the January transfer window, it appears as if Arsenal's search for their long-term striker will wait until the summer.

The Gunners celebrated their return to Premier League action at the weekend with a desperately needed 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace which muted cries for a striker addition this month.

Arsenal had previously endured a woeful run in front of goal, losing three games on the bounce and scoring just once despite racking up over 60 shots during that run.

While the signing of a #9 certainly wouldn't alleviate all of Arsenal's issues - which still remain despite Saturday's win - many supporters have been desperate for some activity this window. Victor Osimhen is among the forwards linked with a move to north London in 2024, and the Napoli striker has revealed that he's already made a decision regarding his future.

Last season's Capaconnoniere has endured a frustrating season so far and is currently away at AFCON with Nigeria. Osimhen's goals fired Napoli to their first Scudetto since Diego Maradona was in town, but their title defence has been shoddy and they're bound for a trophy-less campaign.

Despite penning a new deal with the Serie A champions, Osimhen has hinted that he'll leave Naples this summer.

“I have already made my decision on the next step to do at the end of the season," the striker told CBS (via The Standard)

“I already made up my mind. I already have my plan, I know what I want to do, the next step I want to take."

He added: "I think 60% of the people mention the rumours about me linked with the Premier League. The Premier League is one of the biggest leagues in the world.

“I want to finish the season with Napoli strong then come up with the decision I've already made."

Osimhen's new deal at Napoli is reported to also contain a £112m release clause, with Arsenal poised to pay a pretty penny to sign their long-term #9. The Gunners have multiple options on the table, but the superstar Nigerian should undoubtedly be considered even if refinement is required in regards to his hold-up and combination play.

Chelsea are among the other contenders to sign Osimhen this summer, with the striker's affection for Didier Drogba potentially aiding the Blues' cause.
