A big night at the Emirates beckons on Tuesday as Arsenal host Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

Thomas Muller's Instagram post ahead of the bout says it all regarding the recent trajectories of these two sides. This is a chance for the 2020 European champions to 'surprise everyone' as they edge closer to relinquishing their Bundesliga crown.

Another domestic defeat on Saturday means Bayer Leverkusen are just one win away from securing their first ever league title.

Arsenal head into the hugely-anticipated tie in a rich vein of form, and there's a sense of expectation brewing at the Emirates. Mikel Arteta's side were excellent again on Saturday, toppling Brighton 3-0 and Liverpool's draw at Old Trafford means they ended the Gameweek on top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners have a great chance to put this tie beyond a vulnerable Bayern in midweek.

There should be no fresh injury concerns for the boss heading into this one. Bukayo Saka started Saturday's game having missed the midweek victory over Luton Town. He'll be fine for another start on Tuesday.

Takehiro Tomiyasu is in contention to start at left-back, while Jorginho is likely to keep his place in midfield. Arteta will want Jurrien Timber to be involved soon.

The biggest question mark lies down the left, with Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, and Leandro Trossard all vying for a starting berth.

Bayern Munich team news

The visitors do have a couple of doubts for Tuesday's game, but Thomas Tuchel is expected to have Manuel Neuer and Leroy Sane available. The former has been out since the March break, while Sane missed Saturday's defeat at Heidenheim.

Kingsley Coman and young midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic have both travelled to London.

Former Tottenham stars Eric Dier and Harry Kane should both line up at the Emirates.

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich score prediction

Arsenal are really good. Bayern Munich are there for the taking. My concern is that Arteta pays the visitors too much respect. This is far from a vintage Bayern outfit despite their litany of attacking stars.

The Gunners could make a serious statement by toppling the visitors in some style on Tuesday night. Tuchel's side have often looked turgid in possession this term and woefully vulnerable in defensive transition. The hosts could tear Bayern apart should they take an early lead. Arteta will be content sitting off their opponents and killing them where they're most frail.

The Emirates will be rocking, and this could be a memorable European night for Arteta's stellar outfit.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Bayern Munich
