Arsenal vs West Ham preview: Prediction, team news & lineups
- Arsenal topped the Premier League at Christmas after Anfield draw
- Gunners taking on in-form West Ham side on Thursday
- Hammers knocked Arsenal out of Carabao Cup in November
After entering Christmas at the top of the Premier League table. Arsenal are in action on Thursday night as they welcome West Ham to the Emirates.
These two sides have already faced off this term and the Hammers made the most of a rotated Gunners team in the Carabao Cup, advancing into the quarter-finals as 3-1 victors.
Things are bound to be different this time around as Arsenal attempt to assert their status as the Premier League's top dogs. The Gunners battled hard for a well-earned point at Anfield last time out, and they remain unbeaten at the Emirates this term.
West Ham represent a tough test, however, with their recent upsurge seeing them climb up to sixth in the table.

Arsenal team news
Arteta could make some changes to his left flank on Thursday with both Gabriel Martinelli and Oleksandr Zinchenko struggling at Anfield. Jakub Kiwior and Leandro Trossard could earn starts.
There's not much news on the injury front, although Jorginho should be okay to feature. Kai Havertz is suspended and the Italian is in contention for a start if Arteta doesn't want to play Emile Smith Rowe.
Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Thomas Partey, and Fabio Vieira remain out.

Arsenal vs West Ham score prediction
West Ham's recent success has generally come at home, and they've been subject to two batterings in their previous two away fixtures.
Nevertheless, the visitors will be in a buoyant mood following Saturday's win over United, and Moyes' side are capable of stymying the hosts. West Ham will defend deep, force Arsenal to be patient, and test the Gunners' imperious central defensive axis.
Set-pieces will also play a big role, and Havertz's absence could hurt the hosts from that perspective. Still, I'm backing Arteta's side to edge a close one.
