Arsenal believe Bukayo Saka will return from injury for Champions League

Bukayo Saka recenly limped off the pitch injured against Tottenham Hotspur. After assisting the only goal of the match, the Arsenal forward went down unprovoked and was therefore subbed off early.
In the 86th minute, Bukayo Saka was ejected from the match and replacing him was the fellow Hale End graduate Ethan Nwaneri, making his first appearance of the 2024/25 season.
Bukayo Saka is an incredibly important player for Arsenal. In fact, he is simply irreplaceable in the starting lineup, hence Mikel Arteta wanting to start him in every game possible.
So, with the return of UEFA Champions League action in midweek, is Bukayo Saka injured? Let's take a look at all the updates on the Bukayo Saka injury and his rumoured Arsenal return date.
Arsenal believe Bukayo Saka will return from injury for Champions League
The extent of the Bukayo Saka injury is not yet known. All that is known is that he was in a level of discomfort which prevented him from finishing the North London Derby.
Arsenal are confident Bukayo Saka injury is just cramp
There is good news for Arsenal fans. On the day after the North London Derby, Simon Collings of Standard has revealed that Arsenal are confident Bukayo Saka will make a full recovery this week.
In fact, it is claimed that Bukayo Saka experienced cramp, hence why he was taken off against Tottenham. If this is to be believed, then Bukayo Saka will make a full recovery to face Atalanta and more importantly, Man City this week.
After one important fixture, Arsenal look ahead to more important away fixtures this week. While Mikel Arteta never likes to rest Bukayo Saka, squad rotation should certainly be at the back of his mind against Atalanta, considering the quick turnaround to face Man City (both away matches).
Mikel Arteta provides little update
Speaking after the match against Tottenham, Mikel Arteta said: "I made two changes with the front players and suddenly he's down. So I looked at the bench and the options that we had, so we had to adapt. I don't know exactly what it is, but he could not continue."
Of course, Mikel Arteta was celebrating the victory in the North London Derby. So, his mind may have been elsewhere. However, he is always cautious about commenting on a player's injury until the medical team has finalised a diagnosis.
